eam ICO has released few games, but has a towering reputation. ICO is
still considered one of the best PlayStation 2 games, everyone is
talking about, but only a small number of people actually played. The
next game from Team ICO's Shadow of the Colossus was, another fantastic,
but totally different game like ICO. These top two are now equipped
with a HD jacket and re-released together as Team ICO Collection.
What the ICO so special was the unique bond between him and Yorda. ICO
is enclosed in a huge castle, because he has horns. This is according
to humanity and a danger for his own good he is locked in a sort of
sarcophagus, but he'll soon escape from this. While exploring the
castle, he the bland girl from Yorda. He freed her and does everything
for her escape from the huge complex. Yorda has not asked for anything,
but still listens to ICO, for her battle with the dangers are.
So he ventures on to enormous heights in the castle puzzles to solve
and will also face a kind of shadow enemies who want to drag Yorda into a
wormhole. Armed with a bat and a sword after trying these shadow
creatures to defeat ICO and Yorda to prevent the entrainment into the
wormhole. Your adventure is perhaps a bit on the short side, because if
you know the game and you are experienced, you into the game over four
hours and there is even a trophy for completing the game in two hours.
The negative aspect is indeed the short playing time, but the adventure
is very much good.
The remarkable thing is that the
whole world feels very empty. The only thing on offer is a huge castle
with some climbing and climbing puzzles, Yorda and a lot of enemies who
disappear as quickly as they appeared. But a rather special set empty?
Indeed, it's the atmosphere and the fascinating story. The atmosphere is
very well expressed and you find yourself in a mysterious but thrilling
adventure and helping Yorda helps with this, which is actually a girl
that has zero point zero input. Yet this is the good image outlines of
the character of ICO.
The other title on the disc is of
course the brilliant Shadow of the Colossus. Wander has been faced with
the death of his wife and her to life, he entered the forbidden land.
Prohibited in this country gets a voice (God) told that if he wants to
claim her soul back, he needs to beat sixteen colossi. The forbidden
land houses these sixteen colossi and what the game like ICO
characteristic is that you do have to rely on yourself. There is no dog
in sight in the meadow omtrekt, but where in ICO was limited to the
castle, it is forbidden land a huge sandbox landscapes according to the
principle.
You are in this country all alone with your
horse Agro and that's it. Nowhere do you any signs of life against the
colossi and some animals after. Still, even this country in a massive
atmosphere, so you can find forests, deserts, grassy landscapes, rugged
plains and more. All this you get during your adventure against and it
is a pleasure to travel through the countryside with your horse.
Meanwhile, you of course the various colossi to defeat in many shapes
and sizes vary, and especially after two very, very large.
Beat the colossi is different every time, because you need a weak spot
to find the colossi. Once the flaw is found, you need your sword in rams
to damaging. This is the first a little easy, but as you progress you
will be with them more challenge to face. Think of several
vulnerabilities, alternating bow and arrow, running around with your
horse and more. These are all elements you have to use in your battles
with the colossi and what this game like ICO really distinguishes it is
that a mysterious world that despite the deathly silence still manages
to express a lot of atmosphere.
ICO team put in an
unprecedented atmosphere both games down and remains in the year 2011
and pleasure to both games. The gameplay is still of high quality and
despite what the ICO on the short side, you should have played the game
just once. Shadow of the Colossus is a little longer, but if you've
beaten all the colossi already, then you can spend an hour or six are
through. Yet there is more to do in the world of the latter games. So
you can look for a white tailed lizards. It'll extend your stamina bar,
which ultimately allows for the possibility to climb the giant temple.
This temple is the center of the game and take it from us that it is
worth. Plus you get the option of the colossi to defeat again, but
within a certain time and if you want to get all the Trophies, you're
quietly working one hour or twenty. This is less the case with ICO, but
how many times you keep playing these games again, you never hit your
interest in this integrated world lost. It remains a great experience
every time, you'll never forget, while the craving for The Last Guardian
does increase.
Both games are playable in HD of
course, and although you can clearly see that the PlayStation 2 games,
it looks great on the PlayStation 3 in HD. It is as usual getting used
to, but after fifteen minutes you do not even longer. Trophies gather
the course has a nice extra, and maybe get the doubters of the past now
have to use the games to get started. We must not forget that both games
are playable in 3D and this is especially for Shadow of the Colossus is
very fat.
Both games are still in the year 2011 as a house,
the HD graphics make it visually very well, despite the distinct, but
beautiful graphic style. The Trophies are always a bonus and those with a
3D television are all a great experience. Only two downsides are that
ICO bit on the short side and the control of Shadow of the Colossus is
not addressed and frequently frustrating situations can cause. Beyond
that order, we are dealing with an HD collection of two of the
potentially most brilliant games ever made. Never ICO and / or played
Shadow of the Colossus? Do yourself a favor and get this collection at
home!
