“It’s poison! I tell you, it’s poison!” a young George Bailey yelled through tears to Mr. Gower, the drunk druggist in the movie It’s a Wonderful Life. Yelling the truth was all George could do to stop Mr. Gower from slapping him across the head for not delivering medicine to a customer whose son was suffering from diphtheria.
Wilted with grief after reading a telegram that his own son had died “very suddenly” of the flu, Mr. Gower mistakenly put poison, instead of medicine, in the pillbox.
“You put something bad in those capsules!” George said, with blood streaming from his left ear and his hands on-guard against his boss’s attack. “It’s poison! I tell you, it’s poison!”
Stunned, Mr. Gower staggered to test whether the boy was telling the truth. To his credit, the disheveled old druggist had the good sense to confirm that he was. Extremely distraught over losing his son, he was just a pill away from killing his customer’s son. He was shocked into such sobriety that he rushed George with hugs, deep remorse, and heart-wrenching gratitude.
Killing a sick child with poison, even accidently, was a crime as the alternative version of reality in the movie made clear. Since George had never lived, Mr. Gower spent 20 years in prison and the rest of his life as a panhandler, a town drunk, and viciously despised.
But imagine how sick the movie would’ve been had the old druggist, after learning the truth, kept prescribing the poison and labeling it as a cure, no matter how many people suffered or died.
That’s the alternative version of reality that America is living right now. We’re seeing it with illegal immigration, the COVID response, crime, inflation, race, the food shortage, the baby formula shortage, the push for climate change, and the infuriating Jan. 6 committee.
As the reality sinks in – slowly, as if “one by one” – that this is being done deliberately, the truth of it all is so diabolical that it’s too much for many to absorb. Some, rather than using their brains to think things through, become complicit as they use their brains to rationalize the craziness. Others just tune out – hoping that things, as if by magic, get back to normal.
That’s not going to happen. This is not a movie.
Slow-moving public opinion has been so overwhelmed by fast-moving events that getting back to “normal” – the gravitational pull of most Americans – will not come without a major reckoning. It’s inevitable. America’s new brand of revolutionaries do not want to compromise. They want a new normal … or else. But “normal” and their “new normal” are irreconcilable. So here we are.
Woke political psychopaths, embodying the corpse of a dead Democrat party, are desperately using the cadaver to feed political poison into the body politic. The patient is dying, they know it, but they don’t care because their prescriptions are not accidental.
Just as they’ve disembodied the Democrat party with the full consent of weak and power-greedy politicians, zombie-like revolutionaries in neckties and skirts want to poison, disembody, then take over the country to shape it into their version of the “new normal.” They don’t need our consent. They have political poison.
Conservatives and a trickle of former liberals are yelling, “You put something bad in those policies! It’s poison! I tell you, it’s poison!” But the woke mob just keep slapping them nonstop, promising to make them bleed if they don’t comply.
Facts don’t matter. Evidence is ignored out of existence. We scream to the tops of our lungs about the real damage, suffering and carnage we’re seeing with our own eyes. Still, the disheveled, power-drunk Democrat party staggers, not to get to the truth, but to force-feed us more political poison.
Think of it: The draconian response to COVID was so poisonous to public health that honest experts are now wondering, “How many people were they willing to kill to save one person from COVID?”
By locking down for too long, creating an atmosphere of fear, ignoring the origins of the virus, forcing low-risk children to mask for years, shaming and suppressing dissenters, undermining natural immunity, and focusing the vaccine on healthy people rather than the elderly and those with co-morbidities, it’s becoming clear that the horrendous costs of the COVID cure were far worse than the disease. It was poison.
But the same experts and leaders who pushed for China-inspired measures still refuse to acknowledge how wrong they were because curing COVID was never the point. As World Economic found Klaus Schwab openly admitted in his book COVID-19: The Great Reset, COVID was a perfect opportunity to fast-track a new normal, not only in America, but the world. Only an emergency – real or fomented – could give them the kind of control needed to reorder the world.
Their cure for race is to slap Americans across the head nonstop about an imaginary white supremacy they’ve created to perpetuate a race industry that thrives on black dependency and learned helplessness. They talk incessantly about the disparities in incarceration and income while ignoring the disparities in the kinds of behavior that produced the gaps.
Their cure to fix immigration is to illegally open the borders. The cure to fight crime is to release criminals, stop enforcing the law, defund law enforcement agencies, handcuff police, expose innocent people to crime, and create laws to restrict and ban their guns. This stuff has become extremely dangerous, and people are suffering.
So for now, we are living in the alternative reality of a not-so-wonderful world. Like the movie, we’re all being slapped around for simply tell the truth. Unlike the movie, there is no sign that the Mr. Gowers on the left, or their enablers, will ever be shocked into sobriety, or that they’ll bum-rush the America they’ve harmed with hugs, remorse and gratitude.
To get back to anything that resembles normal in America, it’s time to realize that what these people are doing have nothing to do with political differences anchored in shared values. They are committing crimes. Their policies are bringing loss, suffering and death.
But this is still America. The body politic has been poisoned, and these people will not stop. There must be a reckoning. “Normal” will mean nothing if the people and groups peddling the poison are not held accountable. We must make sure that the worst of them live their lives as political town drunks, on the fringes of American life, and viciously despised.
