The Longest Journey review

Absolutely beautiful and surreal. Like so many woven dreams and breathtaking vistas and grand accomplishments... this game is everything I hoped it would be from the time I first spotted the box to the final credits. There is also no false advertisement in the title, as this is an extremely long journey. After dozens and dozens of diverse characters and locations and victories, you realize you have three discs of game left to go through. I played this game for months, though not always at the computer. I would get stuck on a particularly devious puzzle or plot point and wouldn't play for a while, but found myself brainstorming possible solutions all the time. There are many hours of dialogue and monologue (April tends to talk to herself about whatever is on her mind, which are often the same questions you find yourself asking) and most of it has some comic relief, usually from April's understandable cynacism (she does see and hear some very strange things).

If you want an awesome adventure game that will stretch the limits of your imagination and that will take for-freakin'-ever to finish, I highly recommend this game, although you'd probably love it regardless.

- Some of the puzzles are entirely based on "hunt the pixel" -- success hinges on finding the one tiny pixel that's hidden behind something else. I want puzzles to require intelligence and flexibility on my part, not keen eyesight and infinite patience in moving the mouse over the screen.

The game *was* good. The voice acting was excellent, the graphics were pretty, and the characters were engaging. The story was also very good (though some threads never got resolved, which was annoying).

The Curse of Monkey Island review

This is a game that any true adventure lover MUST add to their collection. It keeps things alive with witty jokes, puns, and overall silliness but doesn't get too annoying. The puzzles you must solve are at about a medium difficulty throughout the game and don't really get any harder or easier. Once you solve the first few you can expect the rest to be about the same. I never play adventure games more than once because I already know the solutions, but I must admit I've played this a couple of times already and I'll probably play it some more. It's like reading a funny comic strip with brain teasers! This game supplies HOURS of enjoyment. I consider it a must have. The Curse of Monkey Island is, in my opinion, the best of the Monkey island series. This game has very good graphics, puzzles and plot. A must have for adventure games fans. The intuitive point-and-click controls make it a snap to control Guybrush and the hilarious yet challenging puzzles, great voices, and wonderful acting make this a highly engrossing game.

Dead Space (2008) review

First off, this game has no installation and that made me very happy. A lot of PS3 games use a big chunk of space on the hard drive and I'm glad this one doesn't. The graphics are amazing, best visuals and textures i have yet to see on a game. The sound adds that extra punch the game that keeps you on the edge. The story isn't that catchy but it works. Pretty much your stuck on a space ship while 2 of your other comrades try to hack into the main system. Your two friends volunteer you to go on a cat and mouse chase and have you go all over the ship for different things. It's the usual go here, go there type of game. You'll do a lot of back tracking and collecting of different items (cash, health pack, ammo, etc). The "alien" aren't that much scary or detailed. The aliens are a flesh color and look like zombies with extra arms with hands as blades. I beat the first chapter and half way through the 2nd and the way the aliens look is staying the same, so far. I'm glad i bought this game and thank goodness it has trophies!

The mood it sets will keep you on edge right up until the end. The environments look fantasic and the controls are very user friendly and are picked up quick. Playing this game was like being trapped in the best scifi/horror flick ive seen in the last two years. If you like games like silent hill or resident evil, this game is for you. There is enough creepiness, guns and gore to make this title one youll want to play over and over again.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana review

Wanderers of Ys is is a rather challenging game - you can get killed early in the game just as easily as you can on the final boss. The controls are crisp and fast, and story and levels are engaging. While not on the level of the Zelda, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger games. Rumor is the Ys 1 & 2 from SNES are better of the trilogy, but with PSP graphics, u never know. This game was released on PC in 2005, and it got a English fan-made patch like the Ys 1 and 2 prequels, and was compared to Diablo II gameplay. On Youtube, the The Oath in Felghana boss soundtrack got on the top 50 videogame music full of RPG games. The PC version was the most sought after Nippon Falcon import in 2005 due to the English patch and it cost $60 to import to the states. It may of been the top RPG for Turbografx-16, not sure. This version is far better than the 16-bit Wanderers of Ys, because its' longer, sounds better, and plays in 3D.

Super Mario 64 DS review

The Mario game is excellent. It has good controls excellent gameplay and perfect graphics. It is basically the same as the N64 version but you can be 4 different characters, Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, and Wario. You need all four in the game because they all have different powers. You need certain ones to get some of the stars. Mario can fly, Wario can turn metal, Luigi can become invincable, and Yoshi can breathe fire. Also, the characters all have other small abilities. For example, Luigi can stay in the air for an extra long time following the high jump, and Yoshi can suck opponents up and spit them into other opponents and kill both in a single shot. They also offer fun mini games when you catch rabbits that you will see hoping around in the castle. Nintendo should make another Mario for the DS. I loved this game so much, it took me two weeks to beat the entire thing. However, the wireless play is not so good and they don't utilize the touch screen. I didn't complete it, because I completed it in 1998 when got into games. It was the only reason to buy N64 (other then Goldeneye) and everybody had a Playstation with Twisted Metal, Madden NFL 96, and Final Fantasy VII. This is was Nintendo 64 was considered a commercial flop, yet sega saturn was nowhere to be seen. In any case, games were better in 1998 and I didn't know anything
