The Emerging Drama Between the Trump Team and RFK Jr. Over the Veepstakes

Trump-Kennedy 2024 either was considered, was never considered, or is being considered. We don’t know, and this is treacherous territory here because both men have a penchant for garnering media attention. Earlier reports mentioned how Trump’s team contacted Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about being Donald Trump’s running mate, which he didn’t write off. Then, Trump adviser Chris LaCivita said this was fake news, citing RFK’s lefty stances on the environment.

This is 100% FAKE NEWS – NO ONE from the Trump Campaign ever approached RFK jr (or ever will) – one of the most LIBERAL and radical environmentalists in the country. For all the fake news- update your stories. https://t.co/HYBJLqSux0— Chris LaCivita (@LaCivitaC) January 28, 2024

To add more intrigue, RFK Jr. is saying that Trump’s camp did reach out to him about being on the Republican ticket, but he’s not interested in the job:

BREAKING: Robert Kennedy Jr. says that members of President Trump’s team did ask him to be Trump’s Vice President for his second administration.
“People from the team have reached out to me,” Kennedy said.

RFK Jr. also stated, “I’m flattered President Trump would offer (that) to… pic.twitter.com/uMJ6ePI71j— Christian (@ChristianM_74) January 29, 2024

He doesn’t want the gig—I’m relieved. It still would have been an interesting story, especially since the liberal media and the Democrats would’ve blown a gasket. Still, there isn’t much these two men agree on regarding policy. They may share the same sentiment on some issues, like how the Democratic Party rigs their primaries, but the environmental disagreements alone would be enough to keep Robert away.

But Mr. Kennedy did get his name in the news cycle he otherwise wouldn’t have, so I guess it was a win for him.

Yellen: Okay Fine, High Prices Are Here to Stay

Speaking during an interview with ABC News Live over the weekend,
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted prices aren’t going down,
contradicting arguments repeatedly made by the Biden White House about
easing inflation. In 2021, Yellen claimed inflation was “transitory.

For
months officials in the Biden administration have falsely claimed
prices on everyday goods and services were going down. In reality,
they’re getting more expensive at a slower pace.

During
a briefing at the White House last week, Press Secretary Karine Jean
Pierre had trouble explaining complaints from Biden when he purchased a
smoothie that cost $6.

“Last Friday, the president
was at a coffee shop in Pennsylvania, and he seemed to be surprised that
the smoothie was $6 and how expensive it was,” a reporter asked. “I’m
curious. So is the president now realizing the costs that Americans are
bearing?”

“So, look, when he went over to you all, to the press corps, he was
having a good time, right? And offered, as you know, offered to buy them
coffee,” Jean Pierre responded. “There was a big group there, and he
made sure everyone got coffee and pastries. So I just want to make that
really clear.”

House Majority Whip Swatted Over the Weekend

Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) became the latest election official to be swatted, the lawmaker announced on X.

“Tonight my family and I were the target of a ‘swatting’ incident involving a 911 prank call that wrongly diverted a police presence to my home,” the House Majority Whip said. “Sadly, this illegal and dangerous scheme is being used nationwide to target elected officials.”

Thankfully, no one was home or injured. I condemn this illegal abuse of police resources.

I want to thank the Wright County Sheriff’s Office for their professionalism and support.

I will have no additional comment on this matter.— Tom Emmer (@GOPMajorityWhip) January 28, 2024

Swatting is when a fake crime is reported to police in an attempt to elicit a heavy law enforcement response, preferably from a SWAT team.

Last month, more than a dozen prominent individuals and politicians were swatted nationwide, including Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley.

An unknown man called police to her Kiawah Island home alleging he shot his girlfriend while at the residence and was considering harming himself, according to The Hill.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has also been a repeated victim of swatting, and pledged to introduce legislation to track down those responsible.

Earlier this month, GOP Sens. Rick Scott of Florida and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama introduced The Preserving Safe Communities by Ending Swatting Act.

“Last month, criminals attempted a ‘swatting’ on my home in Florida in a despicable act of cowardice, clearly intending to terrorize my family and inflict fear and violence,” Scott said in a statement. “This is happening around the nation, not just to elected officials, but also to hundreds of Jewish institutions. It’s sickening, dangerous and we must stop it. I’m incredibly grateful for the work of law enforcement around our nation to keep us safe and put their lives on the line every day. They shouldn’t be put in danger and have their time and resources wasted because of these disgusting hoaxes. Today, I am introducing a bill to make sure the criminals who make these false calls and waste law enforcement resources face serious consequences, including years in prison, if anyone is seriously harmed. We must send a message to the cowards behind these calls—this isn’t a joke, it’s a crime.”

Trump Blasts Biden’s Dangerous Appeasement of Iran

Former President Donald Trump released a statement Sunday blasting President Joe Biden’s Middle East policy after three American service members were killed and dozens injured by an Iranian drone attack Saturday.

“The drone attack on a U.S. Military Installation in Jordan, killing 3 American Servicemembers, and wounding many more, marks a horrible day for America. My most profound sympathies go to the Families of the Brave Servicemembers we have lost. I ask all Americans to join me in praying for those who have been wounded. This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Trump then contrasted his foreign policy record with Biden’s current posturing. Over the past six months, Iranian backed terror groups have attacked U.S. troops hundreds of times with little response.

“Three years ago, Iran was weak, broke, and totally under control. Thanks to my Maximum Pressure policy, the Iranian Regime could barely scrape two dollars together to fund their terrorist proxies. Then Joe Biden came in and gave Iran billions of dollars, which the Regime has used to spread bloodshed and carnage throughout the Middle East. This attack would NEVER have happened if I was President, not even a chance – Just like the Iranian-backed Hamas attack on Israel would never have happened, the War in Ukraine would never have happened, and we would right now have Peace throughout the World. Instead, we are on the brink of World War 3,” he continued. “This terrible day is yet more proof that we need an immediate return to PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, so that there will be no more chaos, no more destruction, and no more loss of precious American lives. Our Country cannot survive with Joe Biden as Commander in Chief.”

Just two weeks ago Biden was asked by a reporter what his message was to Iran as their proxy groups continue to attack shipping in the Red Sea and U.S. military assets.

“I’ve already delivered the message to Iran. They know not to do anything,” he said.

Venezuela, Like Iran, Plays Biden for a Fool and America Suffers for It

In October, under the approving eye of the Biden administration, Venezuela’s cutthroat government inked an agreement with the country’s opposition parties. Called the Barbados Agreement, it was a pledge to work toward a free presidential election.

What’s not to like, right? The government of Nicolás Maduro trumpeted the agreement as a breakthrough, and the Biden administration swallowed the propaganda hook, line, and sinker.

Biden believed that by lifting the sanctions, Venezuela’s migrant problem would subside. He was dead wrong. The number of illegals coming to the United States from Venezuela soared.

Biden didn’t notice that despite the grandiose pronouncements of progress toward democratic reform, Maduro offered no concessions. So it surprised no one except Joe Biden that the Maduro government disqualified the hugely popular opposition candidate, Maria Corina Machado.

The puppet legislature declared her ineligible to run for 15 years, and the kangaroo Supreme Court echoed the decision.

Wall Street Journal:

On Saturday the State Department said the ruling is “inconsistent with the commitment” made in Barbados. No kidding. State noted that Ms. Machado “neither received a copy of the allegations against her nor was afforded the opportunity to respond to those allegations.” It said the U.S. is “reviewing our Venezuela sanctions policy, based on this development and the recent political targeting of democratic opposition candidates and civil society.”

There isn’t much to review. Mr. Maduro learned his politics from Fidel Castro and isn’t about to step aside. The U.S. was naive to think he’d allow a free election, and the only realistic response is to restore the sanctions.

Despite evidence of Iran’s perfidy going back four decades, first Barack Obama and then Biden tried to deal with the Islamic thugs in Tehran. Obama signed a terrible nuclear deal in 2015, unfreezing billions in Iranian assets. He also shipped $400 million in cash to the mullahs in a deal for hostages, the first time America had paid for its people. As predicted back then, the Iranians simply snatched four more Americans.

Then in 2023, Joe Biden swapped five Americans for $6 billion. What possesses a man like Biden to trust these brigands and murderers?

It’s the left-wing impulse to “save” these miscreants and bring them back into the civilized fold. Until his last day in office, Obama was agitating to get the World Trade Organization to accept Iran as a member. Fortunately, no one in the WTO was that stupid.

But Biden is a different story.

New York Sun:

If indeed, as Mr. Blinken suggests, the six billion spondulix are yet to be transferred to Iran from a Qatari bank, why would America let this deal go forward now that Hamas, an Iranian proxy army, has so barbarically attacked Israeli citizens? Washington has the wherewithal to halt the $6 billion payment and renege on the ransom deal now that the hostages Iran has held are back on American soil. So what’s going on?

The answer seems to be that President Biden’s team remains wedded to the idea that appeasing the Islamic Republic is feasible  — never mind all the evidence to the contrary.  Iran and its “death to Israel” coterie is adamant to stop any American-backed peace between Israel and Arab countries, and especially the overly-advertised Washington push for a treaty between Jerusalem and Riyadh, which has emerged against Israel in the war.

Caracas believes that it can afford sanctions more than it can afford a loss in the presidential election and a certain trial for corruption. As long as Biden is in office, Venezuela can rest easy
