Here’s How Many Democrats Say They Would Leave America If the Country Was Invaded

 

Democrats had the highest number of respondents in a new poll from Quinnipiac University who said they would flee the United States in the event the country was invaded.

According to the Quinnipiac poll, 55 percent of Americans said they would stay and fight if the U.S. was invaded but broken down into political leanings, 25 percent of Republicans and 36 percent of independents would leave. When it came to Democrats, over 50 percent said they would do the same:

“As the world witnesses what is happening to Ukraine, Americans were asked what they would do if they were in the same position as Ukrainians are now: stay and fight or leave the country? A majority (55 percent) say they would stay and fight, while 38 percent say they would leave the country. Republicans say 68 – 25 percent and independents say 57 – 36 percent they would stay and fight, while Democrats say 52 – 40 percent they would leave the country.”

“When confronted with a terrible hypothetical that would put them in the shoes of the Ukrainians, Americans say they would stand and fight rather than seek safety in another country,” said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

The poll was conducted in the aftermath of the major Russian invasion of Ukraine. Over one million people have left Ukraine. Women and children have been allowed to leave the country, but military-aged males have been ordered to stay and fight against the Russians. Thousands of male Ukrainians who were abroad when the offensive started have returned to fight in the war.

?? Over 140,000 people have returned to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s invasion.

$5 gas

The national average price of gas now sits at $3.781 a gallon, which is up 20 cents from just a week ago, reports Patrick De Haan, who’s in charge of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

This is also up about a dollar over a year ago.

This continued increase comes after Democrats jumped at the opportunity to thank Joe Biden for a two-cent drop in gas prices back in December.

But things are likely to get worse before they get better. On Thursday, San Francisco became the first U.S. city to break an average gas price of over $5/gallon, and more are expected to follow.

“Oil prices surged another $7 per barrel on Wednesday after an agreement by the U.S. and other major governments to release 60 million barrels from their national reserves — half of them U.S. barrels — failed to quell supply concerns over Russia’s attack on Ukraine,” CBS News reports. “Oil prices spiked again on Thursday following a new round of U.S. sanctions targeting Russia’s oil-refinery sector. The price of Brent crude oil, the international benchmark, rose to nearly $120 a barrel — its highest level in 10 years — before dropping back down to $112.75 a barrel, Reuters reported.”

Gas prices were already high (thanks Biden) before Russia invaded Ukraine (again, thanks Biden) and now we’re all going to get squeezed even more.

How Stupid is Kamala Harris, Really?

 

The United States is suffering from a border crisis, historic inflation, high gas prices, and a labor shortage, among other things, and Russia is invading Ukraine and is threatening a nuclear World War III…

Yet, according to Kamala Harris, it’s time to start worrying about preferred pronouns.

This is not a joke. Well… it is, actually… but, Kamala Harris really does think that now is the time to start pushing LGBTQ issues.

On Thursday, Harris tweeted, “Let’s send the Equality Act to President Biden’s desk. We must increase protections for LGBTQ+ Americans across the country. The onslaught of state bills targeting transgender Americans and their families is wrong.”

The Equality Act purports to expand civil rights protections to the LGBTQetc. community but in actuality will destroy women’s rights by codifying allowing men to play women’s sports and potentially could target free speech by classifying “misgendering” someone as discrimination.

“What a luxury that we can be focused on pronouns during a time like this,” Former Miss Nevada Lisa Song Sutton quipped on Twitter.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) also chimed in, tweeting, “America: inflation is screwing us, our border is lawless, and there’s a ground war in Europe. Kamala: we need to get men in women’s sports asap.”

“Meanwhile Ukraine is burning and Putin’s army is rampaging across Europe. The Biden presidency is living in the Twilight Zone,” tweeted foreign policy analyst Nile Gardiner, a former aide to Margaret Thatcher.

Even as the world burns and a nuclear war looms, Democrats think LGBTQ issues trump everything else. The Biden administration is beyond parody.

Mike Pence Says There Is ‘No Room’ in the Republican Party for Putin Apologists

 

Former Vice President Mike Pence said during a speech to GOP donors at a Republican National Committee retreat Friday evening in New Orleans that there is “no room” in the GOP for apologists for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to excerpts of the speech, Pence explained that “There is no room in this party for apologists for Putin. There is only room for champions of freedom.”

“To those who argue that NATO expansion is somehow responsible for the invasion of Ukraine, ask yourself where would our friends in Eastern Europe be today if they were not in NATO,” his speech continues. “Where would Russian tanks be today if NATO had not expanded the borders of freedom?”

Pence also said that Republicans “must send a deafening message” that “Putin must stop or Putin must pay.”

And while he does not mention him by name, Pence’s speech comes after former President Donald Trump said during a Feb. 22 appearance on “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show” that Putin is a “genius” and “very savvy” for his handling of Ukraine. Trump also claimed the Russian president was a “peacekeeper” in his invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking the next day at a fundraiser in Mar-a-Lago, Trump said, “They say, ‘Trump said Putin’s smart.’ I mean, he’s taking over a country for two dollars worth of sanctions. I’d say that’s pretty smart.”

But earlier this week, the former president told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was a “holocaust” and that the Russians “have to stop killing these people.”

Trump said during an interview Friday that while he and Putin were friends, the Russian president “sort of” believed him when he once warned that the U.S. would “hit” Moscow if provoked. 

Other conservatives to face backlash for remarks seen by many as sympathetic to Putin include former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Fox News host Tucker Carlson, with Pompeo calling Putin a “talented statesman” with “lots of gifts” in January and Carlson just last month questioning why Americans should hate the Russian president.

Pence also rebuked President Joe Biden for his record on foreign policy, pointing out that Russia had not invaded Ukraine until the current U.S. president took office.

“From day one President Biden has shown weakness on the world stage and the world is a more dangerous place as a result,” Pence said. “It’s no coincidence that Russia waited until 2022 to invade Ukraine. Weakness arouses evil and the magnitude of evil sweeping across Ukraine speaks volumes about the president. I say this not as a partisan but as an American. 

The former vice president called on Biden to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline and reopen oil and gas exploration in the U.S. to “put America back on the path of energy independence that we achieved under the Trump-Pence administration.”
